Marinara Sauce

Ingredients:
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 1 cup onion (minced)
  • 1 Tbsp garlic (minced)
  • 35-ounce can Italian plum tomatoes
  • 6-ounce can tomato paste
  • 1/3 cup dry red wine
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan or Romano
  • Preparation:
    1. 1. Sauté onion and garlic in oil until wilted (3-4 min).
    2. 2. Add everything else but cheese. Simmer partially covered (~1 hr).
    3. 3. Wait until cool. Puree in food processor.
    4. 4. Reheat. Add cheese before serving.
